Hong Kong Int'l Coin Show

Ligonier, PA - Your erstwhile traveling correspondent for The Monetary Unit has returned from the East after a week in Hong Kong which included the Hong Kong International Coin Show.
The show, as always, was held at the Holiday Inn Golden Mile in jumping Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon. Once again the show was packed to the rafters with dealers from all over the world seeking out great bargains and exciting new things. The Asian market is hot as fire right now, with Chinese dealers pushing up the volume on trade in currency.
The hot items at the show were the 20 Dollar polymer notes from Singapore and Brunei. In fact, so many people had them that they were somewhat oversold at the show. Expect the price to come down on the joint issue notes over the next few months. Also hot at the show was the new Mexico 20 Pesos polymer note, which you can find in our What's New page.
